My first Flash animation. 50 something layers (with nested layers in many of those), over 200 symbols. Every single part is hand drawn and hand colored in Flash.
Fun story with this one. It's for my Flash class' midterm that we started in mid-February. However, as this was my first animation in Flash, I was creating the Ring completely wrong. I was trying to blend with gradients mostly, and it was not working out at all. After 40 something hours of little progress, I talked with my teacher a week before it was due and she showed me techniques to make painting easier (because painting in Flash is *completely* different from painting in Photoshop).
So, throughout the last 6 days, I've spent around 70 hours working on this. I have gotten about 8 hours of sleep in the last 48 hours, so yea, I'm exhausted XD
The fire was giving me ridiculous problems; my original fire kept crashing Flash, and when it did not crash, it slowed down the fps from 24 to about 10. It was ridiculous. I redid the fire at the end and while it did slow down the animation fps a bit in the swf and didn't render it in a smooth 24 fps, it is not ridiculously slow and it worked really well with the original music.
The original for my midterm also has credits and music. I cut the credits for the web, and dA does not upload the music, or so I've heard. The music was the last 40ish seconds of the Two Towers soundtrack 13, The Forbidden Pool (with the One Ring theme, the boy chorus with the Elvish lyrics).
Edit: The music *does* play! At least on my computer. Not sure if it works with others. Sorry about it cutting off a bit, that comes from me cutting off the credits at the end and Flash's fade out totally not working.
As this is my first Flash animation ever, comments and critiques are very much appreciated!
